Palatine, Illinois Real Estate

After my husband’s retirement, we decided we wanted to buy a bigger home. Because we would be spending so much more time at home, we wanted to be as comfortable as possible. We were living in a condo in downtown Palatine. As we got older, we wanted to be closer to ground level so that we didn’t always have to worry about stairs and elevators. We put it up for sale and began searching for a large home.

My husband and I have several children all of which have children of their own. They live out of state and when they came to visit we wanted them to be able to stay with us instead of in a hotel, so we wanted something with several bedrooms. We also wanted to have a small yard that wouldn’t take too much time to maintain.

We also wanted a big kitchen and dining room so we could entertain more often. With help from our real estate agent from www.realestateinpalatineil.com, we found our dream home in no time at all. A friend of mine had recommended the site to us. Our agent found us our home and also sold our condo. We were thrilled to have done everything in such a small time frame. Our children came to visit shortly after and they absolutely love the house. Many people think that all the houses in the suburbs are exactly the same. That’s definitely not true in Palatine. Our house is definitely unique.

When we were looking for houses we encountered a lot of diversity. Each neighborhood is different and has its own feel. There are big houses, small houses, midsize homes and condos. If we hadn’t known exactly what we wanted, it would have been a tough choice to make. Palatine’s homes are all so pretty.
